He was known for smoking his pipe and for his love of the NWMSU Bearcats. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James Clayton, Freda Blomquist and Al Blomquist; his aunt and uncle who raised him, Virgie and Ray Ward; son, Steve Clayton; and brother, Robert Ferguson. Jim was born November 20, 1935, in Hannibal, MO. He served in the US Navy Reserves. Jim was united in marriage to Florence Lucille Sutton on July 6, 1960.
